LAGOM HOUSE

Lagom House is a thoughtfully reimagined 1950s home, guided by the Swedish philosophy of lagom, not too much, not too little, but just the right amount.

Working entirely within the existing footprint, we reconfigured the internal floor plan to improve flow, introduce a seperate laundry and powder room, and open the living spaces to better capture natural light and the home’s water and mountain outlook.

Materiality and colour bring warmth and personality to the project, with Tasmanian oak veneer joinery, stainless steel bench tops, terrazzo flooring, and playful moments such as the butter yellow entry creating balance between practicality and expression.

Designed for a family of avid readers, the home prioritises storage, connection, and everyday rituals, proving that thoughtful design within existing constraints can create spaces that feel both calm and joyful.

Lagom House is a home that feels grounded, light filled, and deeply liveable. Shaped by mindful choices, quality materials, and spaces designed to be used and enjoyed every day.
